    I obtained my Ph.D. from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra. Currently, I am a part of the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robotics research group (AIMLR), in the school of computing at DIT University, Dehradun. My general research interests include Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Text Mining, Natural Language Processing, Complex Networks, and Linguistics.

    My area of research broadly covers many facets of sentiment analysis and depression detection such as multi-modal sentiment analysis, social media, multi-lingual sentiment analysis, and emotion analysis.

    Research in our group focuses on Opinion Mining and Social Network Analysis. Opinion mining is a type of natural language processing for tracking the mood of the public about a product, person, event, organization, or topic. It is also referred to as sentiment analysis. It is used to mine information from product reviews, online discussion, product-related question-answers, etc. we work on sentiment polarity, review exploration systems, predicting review helpfulness, right finding social media for posting a given question, context-sensitive recommendation systems, and social network based recommendation systems.

    My search is in the understanding of social network analysis. There are many web-based services, such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, etc., which allow users to communicatively connect with other users within the network. I work on problems related to information diffusion and topic modeling in social networks such as categorizing and tagging social media posts, word-of-mouth marketing through social media, the model used in depression detection, and analyze factors for mental stress.
