Entrepreneurship Development Cell

EDC (Entrepreneurship Development Cell) is running various Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Entrepreneurship Skill development Programmes. We got funding from DST and NIESBUD. Last year we got funding of Rs. 6,40,000/- for conducting various EACs, ESDPs and FDP on Entrepreneurship programmes.

Last year EDC have conducted following programmes:

  • EDC jointly with the Department of Pharmacy organized two weeks 'FDP on Entrepreneurship' at DIT University from 29th Jan to 10th Feb 2018. Faculty members from DIT University and other Universities / Colleges participated. Program was Funded by DST-NIMAT.

  • Conducted three days 'Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp' at DIT University, Dehradun between 14th to 16th of March 2018. The program was sponsored by 'Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India' and was meant for students of nearby S&T Colleges.

  • Conducted three days 'Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp' at DIT University, Dehradun, under the aegis of NSTEDB & DST. It was meant for students of nearby S&T Colleges. Programme was from 5th to 7th April 2018

  • EDC organized a three day EAC Program at Giyani Inder Singh Institute of Professional Studies, Malsi, Dehradun from 22nd to 24th Feb 2018. Funding was provided by DST-NIMAT. Total of 80 students from GIS and nearby colleges participated and certificate was provided to them.

  • EDC organized a three day EAC Program at Govt Polytechnic Aamwala, Dehradun from 20th to 23rd September 2017. The program was sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and was meant for students of nearby S&T Colleges.

  • A Talk on BIG scheme and Pfizer by Dr. Udayan Chandra in charge, DBT-BIrac IIT Delhi was organized at DIT University on 23rd Jan 2018.

  • EDC organized 3 days ESDP on Fiber Glass Plastics items manufacturing and repair at DIT University between 20th to 23rd May 2017. The program developed the Technical Skills in students and enhanced their Employability Skills. Around 20 students from DIT University and nearby colleges participated in the program.

  • Members of EDC participated in MSME Industrial Expo-2017 at Haridwar from 15th to 17th Dec 2017. MSME Development Institute organized a National Vendor Development Program cum Industrial Expo, the event proposed to enhance the marketing aspects of SMEs and exposed the opportunities available for supplying their products to the Govt. Departments, PSUs and Large Industries. Our Presence along with our student projects initiated a relationship with the Industry partners present over there.

Being an educational establishment it has been our endeavour to improve the state of education at least in Uttarakhand. Apart from giving financial aid we have been making constant efforts to educate people around us and making them aware about the various advancements in technology & research so as to empower them & making them self-reliant.

INCUBATION CENTERS

An initiative by DIT University at providing entrepreneurs with opportunities to convert their business ideas into reality

Our incubation cell aims to coordinate, synergize and leverage the various strands of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship in a thriving ecosystem consisting of research. It includes close coordination with Industries, CII, UCOST, SIDCUL, UREDA at state level to facilitate start up businesses and consultancy in technology for sustainable development.

Objectives

  • Developing a conducive environment where start-ups entrepreneurship activities can commence
  • Facilitating creation of successful companies by helping budding entrepreneurs by providing excellent mentoring services to start-ups.
  • Providing professional business environment to start-ups for operating business.
  • Utilization of R&D infrastructure to create innovation based start-ups companies.
  • Assistance in commercialization of intellectual property.
  • Developing strong alliances with regional business and technology communities through incubation programs.
