Dr. Bisht joined the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in the capacity of Assistant Professor in November 2022. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, in August 2022. His research topic delves into the political economy of youth labour market in neoliberal India. He has comprehensive knowledge of working with National Sample Survey (NSS) data on employment and unemployment in India. From his Ph.D., he has published five papers in Scopus-indexed international journals and one book chapter. Further, he has also published two Scopus-indexed articles through collaboration. During his Ph.D. he attended and presented his research work at three fully-funded international conferences outside India and five international conferences within India. In addition, he has served as the core committee coordinator in organising the 62nd Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE) conference, one of the oldest and most significant conferences on Labour Economics in India at IIT Roorkee, during 11-13 April 2022. As a voluntary contribution to research, Dr. Bisht is actively serving as an editorial board and review member for international economics and social sciences journals. He has more than seven years of working experience with international development agencies viz. The World Bank, USAID, Plan International (India Chapter) and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Uttarakhand.
