    The Department of Electrical and Electronics & Communication Engineering (EECE) at DIT University has the legacy of producing high quality engineers in design, development, research and production who are capable of taking up challenges in the field of Renewable Energy, Power Systems, Electrical Vehicle Technology, Control Systems and Automation, Information Processing and Analytics, 5G & beyond etc.

    The highly enthusiastic faculty at the department is committed to transform young and bright minds into change makers having global perspective, technical expertise and leadership traits. We aim towards relentlessly imparting in-depth knowledge to our learners.

    We comprehend well enough the significance of right education and thus leave no chance towards initiating innovative teaching and learning methods.     The Mentor: Col (Dr) Sanjiv Tomar, Professor and Head, EECE Department

    Col (Dr) Sanjiv Tomar (Retd) has an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the Army. He was commissioned in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers and has served across the length and breadth of the country ensuring operational readiness of electronics and communication systems in various capacities. He has a BTech (Electronics) and MTech (Electronics) Degree from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, New Delhi. He earned his PhD in Development of UWB Antennas for Indoor Wireless Communication System from Manipal University, Jaipur. He has been a Research Fellow at world renowned Think Tank - Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi and conducted research on Military Applications of Nanotechnology. He has been the Project Leader for execution of a multi-disciplinary weapon system of Indian Army. He has authored a number of research papers which have been published in peer reviewed International Journals.

    The program focuses on Globalization, Digitization, Design, Development, Analysis & Application of Electronics & Communication Technology inculcating a culture in Automation, Futuristic Communication and Digital Technology in line with the Government’s programs like “DIGITAL INDIA” for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Dynamic start-ups.

    Our students are trained to:

    • Become Technocrats not only to design futuristic technologies but also to collaborate a technical environment that is contextual and multilayered for development of country.
    • Engage with the societal needs on current developmental issues and hence get excellent hands on experience in developing real time products.
    • Our constantly evolving syllabus includes a large basket of electives (Fully Flexible Choice Based Credit System) over and above the core subjects with an inter-disciplinary approach to meet the demands and trends of the industry and to minimize the gaps between industry and education.
    • The course is structured in a manner to impart theoretical insights and engaging students in practical work, industrial visits and in Real time industry projects in the area of Broadband Communication, Fiber Optic Communication, Wireless Sensors Network Development, Optics and Photonic Devices, Wearable Technology, Low power VLSI design, Digital Technology, Body to Body Communication, Bio-Sensor Development.

  • Presently the departments offers two UG programs namely B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. The department also offers PG programs namely M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering. The UG programs in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication Engineering cover the cutting edge technologies such as integrated electronics,

    Mobile/Satellite Communication, Embedded / IoT (Internet of things) systems. Similarly UG/PG programs in Electrical Engineering cover the advanced and state of the art technologies in the area of Power Systems, Power electronics, Electrical Machines and Control & Automation. The department also offers Ph.D. programs in Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Department provides the holistic education to provide a sound academic and technical infrastructure augmented with extra-curricular facilities to ensure the all-round development of the students.

  • Beside the regular course curriculum the department offers the Value Added Training, Aptitude Building program, Soft Skills training, Foreign Language Courses & Industrial visits to enhance the employability of the students.

Laboratories

  • Project Lab

    Project lab aims to enable the students to get familiar and experience various electronics and electrical hardware tools through hands-on mode. Here students learn to work with basic circuit designing equipment like soldering iron, drilling machine, component selection and mounting and will end this lab in a project module. This lab is also about testing the circuits, troubleshooting the working errors and studying their computational complexities. The high-end lab facilities in project lab consists of PCB Prototype Machine, 20 MHz Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyser, Wireless In-site Pro Module, Academic License of MATLAB.

    Developing the solid foundations in the basic concepts of electronics and electronics components, their specification and circuit designing. Thus, to train the students how to select components for a desired circuit, study data sheets and design circuits in hardware.

  • Basic Electrical Engineering Lab

    It is common to all engineering students of first year to understand them about the basic concepts of various types of machines, generations of electricity, transmission and its distribution. In this lab students of first year perform experiments related to topics taught in theory like superposition theorem, nortons theorem, thevenin’s theorem, open circuit and short circuit test of single phase transformers, speed control technique of DC machine, speed reversal of induction motor etc.

  • Electrical Machines Lab

    This lab consist of number of machines on which students of second and third year perform experiments related to topics taught in theory.

  • Measurement & Instrumentation Lab

    This lab consists of experiments related to measurement like Owens bridge, Wheatstone bridge, Kelvin’s double bridge, RTD, thermocouple, thermistor, etc. on which students performed experiments related to topics taught in theory and learn how to compute electrical quantities in different type of industries.

  • Networks Lab

    This lab consists of various type of instruments which helps the student to understand electrical network problem solving methods experimentally.

    This lab consists of experiments performed on control system like position controller.

  • Power System Lab

    This lab consists of different relays like Differential relay, Overcurrent relay, Thermal relay, Instantaneous overcurrent relay, single line to ground fault analysis, three phase to ground fault analysis on which students of final year perform experiments related to topics studied in power system.

    1. Experimental setup for A,B,C,D parameters, Hybrid parameters

  • Power Electronics Lab

    This lab consists of experimental setups on which students of third year perform experiments related to topics studied in power electronics like half bridge rectifier, full bridge rectifier, half wave converter, full wave converter, inverter and as simulation experiments performed by Power Simulation software.

    1. Single phase fully controlled bridge converter kit
    2. Single phase half controlled converter kit
    3. Cycloconverter kit
    4. Single phase bridge inverter kit

  • Computer & simulation Lab

    This lab basically consists of about 20 computers on which various simulation softwares like Multisim, PSIM, Dapper, LabView and MATLAB have been installed. These softwares are being used by the students of second, third and final year students for lab as well as project work.

  • Electric Drives Lab

    In this lab experimental setups on which students of final year perform experiments related to topics studied in electric drives like speed control of d.c. motor, speed control of a.c. motor, etc.
