School of Computing
The School of Computing has been constituted to include all the departments that offers academic programs in various levels of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Applications and allied areas.
Computer Science education in DIT dates back to more than two decades, with establishment of the department of Computer Science and Engineering, and subsequently the departments of Information Technology and Computer Applications.
Located in peaceful and pristine Doon Valley, these departments provided holistic and cutting-edge computer education in all levels and soon became the most sought-after among students who want to make a bright career in computing. Steadily, the programs had grown in size and prestige enough to become a school in its own right, and hence it was decided to constitute the School of Computing that will house these departments.
