HOD's Message
As Head of the Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts at DIT University, I am proud to share our commitment to academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, and research-driven education. The Department offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in Psychology, English, and Economics, designed to equip students with strong theoretical foundations, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of human, cultural, and socio-economic dynamics. Our Psychology programmes emphasise scientific inquiry, mental health awareness, and applied psychological practices. The English programmes foster critical engagement with literature, language, and cultural studies, strengthening communication skills and interpretative abilities. The Economics programmes focus on economic theory, quantitative analysis, and policy perspectives, enabling students to examine contemporary economic issues at national and global levels critically.
The Department adopts a learner-centric and research-oriented pedagogy, integrating classroom instruction with experiential learning, research projects, seminars, and academic collaborations. Guided by a dedicated and experienced faculty, we strive to cultivate intellectual curiosity, ethical responsibility, and professional competence among our students. Through a supportive and inclusive academic environment, the Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts aims to prepare graduates and researchers who can contribute meaningfully to academia, industry, policy-making, and society at large.
