Scholarship Policy

Scholarship Policy for International Students
Admission Year 2026-27

DIT University always encourages scholarly aptitude and merit in students. To facilitate scholarship among students towards their academic excellence, following scholarships are awarded by the University to International students:

Applicability & Eligibility -

    • All foreign national students (students with a passport/nationality other than India)
    • Indian students who studied their qualifying examination in a foreign country

a. 12th/A-level/diploma or equivalent, if applying for undergraduate programs

b. Bachelor’s degree, if applying for post-graduate programs

Categories -

The merit-based scholarship will be awarded to the students in 2 categories, as per below –

  1. 1. SAARC Category
  2. 2. FNS/NRI Category

1. SAARC Category –

  • Foreign national students from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be considered for SAARC category scholarship.
  • Indian national students who have studied in Nepal or Bhutan are also considered for SAARC category scholarship (because of open-border agreement between governments)
  • The scholarship will be awarded based on the percentage of marks (or equivalent conversion like GPA/CGPA to percentage) in the 10th or 12th examination
  • The higher percentage between the two results will be considered for determining the scholarship slab.
  • The scholarship will be awarded based on the percentage of marks (or equivalent conversion like GPA/CGPA to percentage) in the Bachelor’s degree program, if student has applied to study Post graduate program.
  • SAARC category scholarship has 2 sub-categories -

  • Scholarship for SAARC category student is applied on both the components of university fee (Academic fee and Tuition fee)
  • Scholarship doesn’t apply on registration fee, admission fee, caution money, Hostel fee and transport fee.

2. FNS/NRI Category –

  • Foreign national students from Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be considered for SAARC category scholarship.
  • Indian national students who have studied in Nepal or Bhutan are also considered for SAARC category scholarship (because of open-border agreement between governments)
  • The scholarship will be awarded based on percentage of marks (or equivalent conversion like GPA/CGPA to percentage) in the qualifying examination.
  • Rounding off marks in such cases where marks are above 64.50, 74.50 & 84.50 to 65, 75, & 85 respectively may be allowed for eligibility and scholarship.
  • FNS/NRI category scholarship has 3 sub-categories –

Calculation of percentage of marks for scholarship – (As per prevailing norms)

  • If GPA is out of 4, it is converted to percentage by multiplying by 25. If GPA is out of 5, it is converted to percentage by multiplying by 20. If GPA is out of 10, it is converted to percentage by multiplying by 10.
  • For those countries where percentage of marks or GPA is not mentioned on the result, but marks are mentioned for each subject (Example – Bhutan or CBSE Board, India etc.), the percentage of marks of top 5 subjects will be used to determine scholarship.
  • For countries where grades are mentioned for each subject, without any overall GPA/CGPA/Percentage – The grade conversion chart provided by the “Study in India” will be used. In case of grade conversion to marks is mentioned in a range and not exact marks, upper limit will be considered to provide the student with maximum benefit of scholarship.
  • Rounding off marks in such cases where marks are equal to or above 59.50, 64.50, 69.50, 74.50, 84.50 to 60, 65, 70, 75 and 85 respectively may be allowed for eligibility and scholarship.

Terms & Conditions -

  1. 1. International scholarship in the category of SAARC and FNS/NRI are applicable to both the components of university fee i.e., Academic fee and Tuition fee.
  2. 2. The students who are eligible for the scholarship, as per the norms specified by the University should address their application to the International Students’ Cell with relevant documentsfor consideration.
  3. 3. Foreign nationals/NRI students availing SAARC or FNS/NRI category scholarship are not eligible for other scholarship.
  4. 4. Scholarship once awarded will be applicable for the whole duration of the course without any restrictions of GPA, Backlog, attendance, semester break etc.
  5. 5. If at any stage, it is found that an applicant has concealed, suppressed, distorted any information / facts which would have rendered him/her not eligible for the admission and / or for benefit of fee / scholarship which has been awarded by the University basis initial documentation, then the admission and / or benefit of fee / scholarship will stand cancelled and all such financial support will be recovered by the University.
  6. 6. In case of any escalation / representation / dispute / discrepancy / clarification, the decision of the Management will be final and binding.
  7. 7. The Management reserves the right to change the Scholarship Policy as per its discretion.
  8. 8. Any special scholarship/provision for scholarship more than eligible percentage, must be approved by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor or Hon’ble President of DIT University.
