DIT University's 4-year B.Sc Nursing program is a fulltime program comprising eight semesters, which prepares B.Sc. nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwiwifery in a variety of settings in either public/government or private healthcare settings. It adopts credit system and semester system. This is achieved through learning in skill lab/simulated lab and clinical environment. Simulation will be integrated throughout the curriculum whenever feasible to enable them to develop competencies before entry in to real field of practice.
Arts students are not eligible for B.Sc Nursing. They requirePCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology & English) which is a background of science to be eligible for nursing course.
The B.Sc Nursing admission process at DIT University starts with filling up the application form and the eligibility requirements (10+2 in PCB & english along with prescribed marks). The DIT University official website clearly states that admissions are based on the DITU Nursing Entrance Test merit. After the entrance test, candidates have to verify the documents and pay the fee to finalize the admission.C7
The courses in B.Sc Nursing have a list of theory subjects as well as practical ones that help the students in various health care areas. Some of the courses taught in B.Sc Nursing are: Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing Foundation, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology & infection control, Adult Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery/Obstetics & Gynaecology. Nursing Students are provided with practical sessions that helps them learn the required practices before they go to Hospital
No fixed NEET marks are needed for B.Sc Nursing admission; colleges set cut-offs based on NEET scores & counselling procedures are conducted for admission in the same not marks. In fact, a qualifying NEET score( approx 200-400+ as per category & choice of colleges) are required in most cases for the good colleges of Nursing; marks vary each year with competition and choice.
