Rakesh Kumar Singh joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in July 2025. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Design) from IIT Patna, and an M.Tech. in Design & Production Engineering from G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun. His interests center upon magnetorheological fluid-based two-wheeler brakes, tribology, rheology, machine design, mechatronics (control system), and crashworthiness study etc. He was shortlisted for the Euro Brake Student and Young Engineer Programme 2024, organized by FISITA. He has published seven research papers in reputed journals such as Mechatronics, Tribology International, ASME- Journal of Tribology, Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, etc. Along with that, he has presented his works in reputed conferences such as IndiaTrib and TriboIndia. His works have also been presented at Euro Brake conferences. He have also filed two patents for MR fluid-based brakes.
