One Day Seminar on IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) held on 1 FEB 2020
The MBA department of DIT University organized a one Day Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights on February, 01, 2020 at DIT University, Dehradun. This Seminar aimed at creating awareness about Intellectual Property Rights amongst different stakeholders such a students, researchers, academicians (across disciplines),who are going to play a key role in making our economy remain competitive in current as well as future times.
Dr.RahulTaneja, Scientist, Haryana State Council for science & Technology, Government of Haryana, was the Chief Guest for the Seminar; he spoke on how various businesses in India are ignorant regarding IP rights. He also mentioned that not everything can be patented like a mathematical theory or a medical surgery etc: IP are usually secondary rights is what he also mentioned the process of the same.
Dr. K K Raina, Vice Chancellor, DIT University spoke about India’s range of intellectual creations is as diverse as its people, from patents to plant varieties, trademarks to traditional knowledge, copyright to designs and geographical indications. He emphasized on the importance of such seminars to be planned frequently and continuous education is imparted on such crucial topics as India is aspiring to become a five trillion economy.
