Chemical Engineering
Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Homogeneous/Hetrogeneous Catalysts, Microreactors.
Dr. Shilpi Saxena joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering as an Assistant Professor in December 2023. Dr. Saxena received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, and M.Tech in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals. Dr. Saxena’s interests center upon synthesis and characterization of Nano-catalysts, used in various processes of refining and hydrodynamics and mass transfer in microreactors. Her thesis topic “Metal nanoparticle encapsulated by zeolite nanoshell for heterogeneous catalysis” was selected as featured research at IITK. Before joining DIT University, Dr. Saxena was a postdoc at IIT Delhi. She has worked at Reliance Industries Limited, Vadodara. Dr. Saxena has published papers in various reputed Journals. She also has many filed/granted patents on synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts for various applications. She has delivered presentations at international conference- AICHE, 2014, USA and national conferences- ICFMD, 2012, CHEMCON, 2012, and ICONSAT, 2014. She has hands-on experience in a variety of analytical characterization techniques: SEM, XRD, TEM, BET, UV/VIS, GC, FTIR etc.
