Admission Withdrawal/ Cancellation and Fee Refund Policy-New Admissions

I. PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION WITHDRAWAL

  1. All applications for Admission Withdrawal including Hostel or Transportation withdrawal shall be submitted in prescribed Format as attached with the policy.
  2. Date of withdrawal for above purpose is the date when duly signed copy of completely filled Form (In person or through E-mail ID: [email protected]) is submitted to Admissions Office in prescribed Admission Withdrawal Form filled by the prospective student along with relevant enclosures. Date of any telephonic conversation / e-mail without Admission Withdrawal Form will not be considered for the purpose of withdrawal / date of withdrawal.
  3. The University has the right to cancel the admission of any student, if he/she fails to pay the applicable fee by the due date or fails to submit mandatory documents as mentioned in respective Provisional Admission Letter, or, the student absents himself / herself from the University without seeking approval. In such case, refund, if any, shall be governed as per the applicable policy.
  4. For calculation of refund, Annual fee as mentioned in applicable fee schedule shall be considered.

    Admission Withdrawal, Cancellation/ Fee Refund Policy for Academic Fee

    Academic fee consists of tuition fee and academic fee only.

    1. Notified last date of admission is August 15, 2023. The institute reserves the right to change the date if situation warrants.
    2. The Registration Fee of Rs. 1,250/- & Admission Fee of Rs. 10,000/- are non-refundable. Registration & Admission fees, once paid shall NOT be refunded under any circumstances.
    3. All withdrawal applications will be processed by the Registrar Office of DIT University on recommendations of the Head, Admissions.
    4. Annual Fee for above purpose includes Annual Tuition Fee and Academic Service Fee for the Year (Both Instalments).
    5. Any scholarship, if granted for admission, will not be considered for calculation of Annual fee.
    6. In case, the student reports to attend the Programme and subsequently applies for withdrawal, an additional amount of Rs 10,000/- on account of Joining Kit will be deducted over and above from the refundable amount as mentioned in the table provided above.
    7. If deductible amount is more than the amount paid by the student against applicable Annual fee, differential amount will be adjusted from any other amount paid by the student including security deposit.

    Refund Policy for Hostel, Mess & Laundry Fee

    1. If the student withdraws before the notified date of commencement of classes/reporting for hostel, only Rs. 1,000/- will be deducted as processing charges and balance shall be refunded.
    2. If the student withdraws from Hostel after the commencement of classes/reporting for hostel (irrespective of the date of admission and irrespective of whether the candidate has occupied room or not), the complete annual hostel fee shall be forfeited. In such cases, only Mess fee & Laundry fee for balance months shall be refunded on pro-rata basis. (Fees of Hostel is for 10 months). However, the refund for using mess and laundry facility shall not be entertained for withdrawals post November 30, 2023.
    3. If the student has availed hostel facility even for one day in a calendar month, then Mess & Laundry fee for that calendar month shall be deducted.
    4. Student should give one-month prior intimation to vacate the hostel to Chief Warden.

    Refund policy for Transport Fee

    1. If the student withdraws before the commencement of classes, only Rs. 500/- shall be deducted as processing charges and balance shall be refunded.
    2. If the student withdraws after the commencement of classes, then refund shall be calculated on half yearly basis. No withdrawal is allowed during term and post 30th November of the calendar year.
    3. The transportation fees is Rs. 18,000/- paid on annual basis applicable for 10 months.

II. Admission Cancellation Policy

In case of non-payment of remaining fee by due date, the provisional admission shall stand cancelled.


III. General Instructions

  1. In case of Foreign / NRI candidates, the refund will be made in accordance with Foreign Exchange Regulations / RBI as per the prevailing rates of exchange along with applicable bank charges.
  2. All students are admitted provisionally till they deposit all prescribed fees, documents as per the eligibility criteria, Migration Certificate, other certificates as applicable and mentioned in the Provisional Admission Letter.
  3. Any student who does not comply with any of the above conditions within the stipulated time, the University shall have the right to cancel his/her admission.
  4. While calculating the refund, if there are any dues in any account of the student, the same will be adjusted first and then the balance amount will be refunded to the student.
  5. The late fee rules mentioned on DIT University’s website would be applicable from second installment onwards ONLY.
  6. No admission is considered as Auto withdrawal until required formalities are completed as per policy.
  7. The University is not responsible for any delay in transit involved in receipt and delivery of any communication between the University and the applicant.
  8. Those who are given provisional admission in spite of their not having the qualifying examination result must submit the said result (meeting the eligibility criteria) before November 30, 2023, failing which their provisional admission will stand cancelled and no refund shall be made except for caution money.
  9. No interest is paid on refund of any fees/deposit.
  10. The above refund rule information is indicative only and DIT University reserves the right to make changes as per the notifications received from the concerned statutory / regulatory authorities from time to time. Any changes made, in the above will be updated on the website.
  11. All disputes are subject to the legal jurisdiction of Dehradun Courts only.

Admission Withdrawal / Cancellation and Fee Refund Policy

For Continuing Students - 2nd year onwards

I. ADMISSION WITHDRAWAL & REFUND RULES

A. Refund Policy for Program Fee

  1. If a continuing student submits his /her application for withdrawal by 30th June of the year without paying the fee for the next year, the dues against the student may be reversed, and his /her NOC/Migration Certificate may be issued to him/her after deducting a processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- from the refundable security amount.
  2. If the continuing student submits his / her application for withdrawal after 1st year of the program and by 31st July of the next year, and has paid / not paid the program fee for the next year, his/her NOC/Migration Certificate may be issued by paying /deducting Rs 5000/-. If any fee has been deposited by the student, the same may be refunded after deducting Rs. 5000/- in such cases, as mentioned above.
  3. If a continuing student submits application for withdrawal after 31st July, after paying the fee for the next year, no fee will be refunded.
  4. If a continuing student submits application after 31st July without paying fees and without registering for the next year of the program, his / her request for issuing Migration / NOC may be considered on payment of next year’s fee i.e the student will be required to deposit both installments of the next academic year’s fees. Furthermore in case a student withdraws after odd semester, the student may be required to pay the next instalment of the fees.
  5. In case a continuing student withdraws after second year or later, he/she will be given documents, if any, only if the conditions laid down in paras (c ) and (d) are fulfilled. Furthermore, no fee, except the refundable Security Money will be refunded in such cases. If the student withdraws after registration date of the year without paying the fee for the next year, he/she will have to pay the next year’s fees for issuing the Migration / NOC/Character Certificate.
  6. Parent’s consent is mandatory for withdrawal before completion of program.
  7. In case, Deductible amount is more than the amount paid by the student against Annual fees, differential amount will be adjusted from any other amount paid by the student including security.

B. Refund Policy for Hostel, Mess & Laundry Fee - Other than Final Year Students

  1. If the student withdraws before the notified date of commencement of classes, only Rs. 1,000/- will be deducted as processing charges and balance shall be refunded.
  2. If the student withdraws from Hostel after the commencement of classes (irrespective of the date of admission and irrespective of whether the candidate has occupied room or not), the complete hostel fee shall be forfeited. In such cases, only Mess fee & Laundry fee for balance months shall be refunded on pro rata basis. (Fees of Hostel is for 10 months). No withdrawal is allowed post 30th Nov of the calendar year.
  3. If the student has availed hostel facility even for one day in a calendar month, then Mess & Laundry fee for that calendar month shall also be deducted.
  4. Student should give one-month prior intimation to vacate the hostel to Chief Warden. No withdrawal post 30th Nov of the calendar year will be entertained for refund except for students placed through placement process in Final year of study.


II. FOLLOWING HOSTEL FEE REFUND POLICY FOR FINAL YEAR STUDENTS PROCEEDING ON INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP IN THE LAST SEMESTER OF THEIR PROGRAM

A. Procedure for Hostel Withdrawal

  1. All applications for withdrawal from Hostel shall be submitted to Chief Hostel Warden on or before 31st December along with Internship letter duly signed by the Placement Cell of the University.
  2. Date of withdrawal for above purpose is the date when duly signed copy of completely filled application (in person or by E-mail ID: [email protected]) is submitted. Date of any telephonic confirmation/E mail without Form will not be considered.
  3. Same is applicable only for students who are in the Even semester of final year of their program.

B. Refund Policy for Hostel, Mess & Laundry Fee

  1. If the student withdraws from the Hostel before the commencement of classes of Even semester of Last year of his/her program, Rs. 3,500/- per month will be refunded for balance 5 months.
  2. If the student withdraws from Hostel after the commencement of classes (irrespective of the date of registration of Even semester of Last year of his/her program and irrespective of whether the candidate has occupied room or not in the even semester), no amount will be refunded to the student.
  3. If the student has availed hostel facility even for one day in a calendar month, then Mess & Laundry fee for that calendar month shall also be deducted.
  4. Student can stay in hostel along and avail Mess and Laundry facilities during his/ her last semester examinations without any additional charge subject to maximum of 15 Days.

III. REFUND POLICY FOR TRANSPORT FEE

  1. If the student withdraws before the commencement of classes, only Rs. 500/- shall be deducted as processing charges and balance shall be refunded.
  2. If the student withdraws after the commencement of classes, then refund shall be calculated on half yearly basis. No withdrawal is allowed during term and post 30th November of the calendar year, in case, Annual Transport fees is paid. (Half yearly fees for Transport Rs 7500/-). Transport Fees is for 10 months.

IV. OTHER NOTES

  1. While calculating the refund, if there are any dues in any account of the student, the same will be adjusted first and then the balance amount will be refunded to the student.
  2. The late fee rules mentioned on DIT University’s website would be applicable.
  3. No admission is considered as Auto withdrawal until required formalities are completed as per policy.
  4. The University is not responsible for any delay in transit involved in receipt and delivery of any communication between the University and the applicant.
  5. No interest is paid on refund of any fees/deposit.
  6. The University reserves the right to modify and amend refunds policies.
  7. All disputes are subject to the legal jurisdiction of Dehradun Courts only.
