• Brief Profile

  Rakesh Nath joined the School of Design as an Assistant Professor III in October 2025. He received his Master of Design in Multimedia and Communication Design from the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar, and a Bachelor of Vocation in Animation and Graphic Design from Sualkuchi Budram Madhab Satradhikar College, under Gauhati University. He also holds a degree in Fine Arts (Painting) from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Nath’s interests center on multimedia communication, immersive learning, and creative technology, with a focus on integrating AR/VR, AI-based mural design, and cultural heritage visualization. His research papers, 3D Movie Glasses for Spectacle Wearers and Augmented Reality in Cultural Education, were published in the Proceedings of ICoRD 2025, organized by IIT Hyderabad. Before joining the School of Design, he served as a Vocational Faculty in Media & Entertainment under the Samagra Shiksha Project – Assam (Project-157) at Saraight High School, Amingaon. He has also completed NSDC Skill India certifications. Nath has designed a Cultural Bodo Game and AI Mural Art project that preserve the Bodo community’s traditions and heritage through interactive gameplay, combining elements of visual design, storytelling, and cultural symbolism.
