Brief Profile

Astha joined the Department of Design as an Assistant Professor, bringing a strong academic and research background in modern digital innovation and traditional design principles. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Design from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. She holds a Master of Design (M.Des) and a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) from the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali. Her research interests lie primarily in adaptive clothing, sustainable design practices, and the integration of advanced digital tools in fashion. She has published research on adaptive clothing solutions and presented at national and international forums. Prior to her current role, she served as an Assistant Professor and Placement Coordinator at Satyam Fashion Institute and Budha Group of Institutions, where she led NEP-aligned curriculum restructuring, organized recruitment events, and mentored students across undergraduate and postgraduate design programs
