  • Brief Profile

    Dr. Sabya Sachi Das is working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy and Population Health Informatics, DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, where I am involved in conducting theory/practical classes and dissertation research projects for both bachelor and master students.

    He completed his Ph.D. work entitled “Formulation, Development, and Biological Evaluations of Quercetin-Loaded Nanoemulsion” from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. In his Ph.D. research, he successfully developed a stable, biodegradable, and biocompatible nanoemulsion system for the targeted delivery of quercetin (a natural antioxidant). The optimized formulation exhibited improved drug release, antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-leishmanial, anti-Parkinson, and anticancer effects in vitro. In addition, based on the results of in vivo and molecular studies, the optimized formulation exhibited potential anti-leishmanial and anti-Parkinson effects. The optimized formulation also demonstrated improved oral bioavailability through pharmacokinetic studies. He has published over 50 scientific publications (research/review/editorials/book chapters) in various peer-reviewed journals and books. Additionally, he has represented his research work at several international conferences, symposiums, and world congresses (10+). He works independently and collaboratively with researchers, innovators, scientists, and scholars from diverse backgrounds.

    His research involves developing and characterizing novel lipid-/polymer-/metallic-based nanocarriers for the targeted delivery of drugs (natural and/or synthetic)/biomolecules for targeting chronic diseases such as cancer, malignant wounds, and others. In addition, he has keenly interested in developing hydrogels and polymeric biomaterials for cancer, tissue engineering, and chronic wound healing applications. He also has good hands-on experience in formulation, characterization, in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo studies of biomaterials and targeted delivery systems against selected disease models. He mainly focuses on designing and establishing potentially Targeted Nanocarriers and Stable Pharmaceutical Formulations for various therapeutic establishments.
