  • 1528 degrees awarded at 3rd Convocation of DIT University

    DIT University, Dehradun held its 3rd Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 21st December 2019. Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat Ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat Ji, Minister of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand and Shri Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand accompanied him as the Guest of Honor. 1528 students were awarded degrees in B Tech, B Arch., B Pharm, M Tech, MCA, M Pharm and MBA. This year DIT University awarded 13 Ph D degrees along with 16 Gold Medals.

    Students were enthusiastic to visit the campus and receive their degrees from the respective dignitaries.

    Students and their parents from different parts of the country flocked in, at the DIT University campus for collecting their awards and degrees.

    Award 1 - A total of 13 Doctoral Degrees were awarded.

    Award 2 – 1342 Undergraduate Degrees, 147 Postgraduate degrees and 26 Diploma Certificates were conferred at the Ceremony.

    Award 3 (Previous year students’) – 2 Post Graduates and 86 Undergraduates.

    In an endeavor to develop alternative methods to create a sustainable future through specialized education, DIT University graduates today at their convocation ceremony, pledged to uphold the noble cause of environmental protection and the need to maintain equity, ecological security, and the wealth of global natural resources.  Students took the oath and pledged to uphold the honor of their Alma Mater.

    The convocation was attended by many prominent personalities, parents of students and members of statutory bodies of DIT University.  

    Commencing the Convocation ceremony:

    Members forming the Academic Procession assembled in the Robing Room to commence the convocation ceremony. Our National anthem was played, followed by “Saraswati Vandana” and DIT University “Kulgeet”. The Chief Guest of the 3rd Convocation Ceremony, Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand , Shri Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister Higher Education & Shri Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretory, Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand released the Convocation Souvenir and the Chairman of the University, Shri Anuj Aggarwal Ji along with the Chancellor of the University, Shri N. Ravi Shanker ,Vice Chancellor, Dr. K K Raina and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Brigadier M Srinivasan (Retired) declared the Convocation Ceremony open.

    The Doctoral Degree recepients and the Medal awardees were felicitated by the Chief Guest and The Guest of Honor.

    Convocation Address:

    Vice Chancellor, Dr. K K Raina presented the University report, he said, “The 3rd Convocation is yet another milestone in the history of any institution. On this momentous occasion, I congratulate the students, who are graduating today, their parents and the University for this Academic Feat.

    DIT University has a unique structure with an innovative organizational set up working towards a high-quality research-based education that ensures relevance with industry combined with social sensitivity.

    I have no doubt that the students will utilize their knowledge and fulfill their responsibility in a way that will bring success to them and pride to their alma mater.”

    Shri Anuj Aggarwal, Chairman, Board of Governor, DIT University presented the mementos to the dignitaries.

    Dr. Devadesh Sharma, Registrar, DIT University announced a total of 1528 degrees to be awarded for all students graduating from DIT University and requested the Vice Chancellor, Dr. K K Raina to hand over the same.

    Oath and Closing Ceremony:

    The Vice Chancellor administered the Oath to the recipients of the degrees, post which Shri Anuj Aggarwal signed the scroll. The Closing ceremony was called in by Shri N Ravi Shanker, Chancellor, DIT University.

    Laughter, joy & excitement ruled the day at the 3rd Convocation of DIT University! Amidst cheers and applause, graduates received their degrees & were spurred to achieve great heights. It truly was a day to remember!
