he Biodiversity is an integral part of our ecosystems. It provides us the services that are of immense value. Due to degradation of ecosystems (Habitats) biodiversity is extincting at an alarming rate. According to IUCN more than 1 million species are under threat due to anthropogenic activities. At the global level, WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY (June 05) 2020 is also celebrated with theme “Biodiversity” – a concern that is both urgent and existential. Hence it becomes need of the hour for common people to act for conservation of biodiversity. The department of chemistry proposes to act in this context by organizing a digital event (webinar) for staff and students of DIT University, Dehradun.
