The Pharmacy Club

  • Aarogya Club along with DIT Faculty of Pharmacy has celebrated World Pharmacist Day on 25th September 2015 by distributing MEDI-C Boxes to 300 families in rural areas for proper storage of Medicines and created importance for proper storage of Medicines. 200 Prescription Files were distributed to patients at Doon Hospital for creating awareness about Importance of Maintenance and Filing of Prescription
  • The aarogya club members under the able guidance of honourable director |Dr. N.V Satheesh Madhav and faculty members organised a cultural event for celebration of completion of 10 glorious years of pharmacy department in the university. Various competitive events such as: best logo design, best floor decoration , poster presentation were held and the winners were awarded.
  • An awareness programme and survey was conducted in November, 2015 on pharmacy week by aarogya club in the rural areas (Purkul gaon, Shahstradhara and areas near ISBT)regarding the harmful effects of tobacco and alcohol and data was collected showing the percentage consumption of the same in these areas.
  • Another awareness programme was conducted in Banjarawala by the aarogya club, highlighting the importance of OTC drugs and home remedies for Asthma , Common cold and Dengue.
  • Director, Faculty of Pharmacy, faculties and students also visited old age home, orphanage and provided charity services to them. In December 2015, an industrial visit to the IPCA laboratories was conducted by aarogya club for B.Pharm students. In January 2016, an industrial visit to the Kalindi pharmaceuticals by aarogya club for B.Pharm students.

Amperanza is a technical club of electrical engineering students. The motive of the club is to improve technical, practical and reasoning skills of the students and it also provides helping hands to society. It provides a platform to student for learning, creating and improvising their professional skills. This club helps students to develop their recreational, competitive and instructional abilities. Involvement in this club can enhance student’s collegiate experience and contribute to a well-rounded education.

DIT Motoracing is a formula team based in DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The team comprises of passionate members all possessing enthralling automotive & management skills. The objective of the team is to design, manufacture, fabricate, test and race an open-wheel Formula Style race car over a span of one year. The team is progressing to its 5th year. The team participates FSI (FORMULA STUDENT INDIA), which is an international competition. After achieving a 4th position in the Endurance event, we have become a force to reckon with. It gave us the much needed appreciation from the renowned personalities of the automobile sector like Pat Clarke, Claude Rouelle, Mehak Modi and Steve Fox. The team is branched into two major departments’ technical and management. The technical department works on the various components of the car namely Design, Suspension & Steering, Braking & tires, Powertrain, Drivetrain and Electrical. The management department works on external affairs, sponsorship and documentation. High coordination between these two departments is key behind the successful fabrication of the car.

The first ever Music club of DIT, “Mesmeronica”, was inaugurated on 26th September, 2014 under the guidance and blessings of our faculty advisor Dr. Vijay Kumar, Director Academic Administration Prof. Shishir Kumar. The event underlined the passion and perseverance of the organizing team and all the participants.

Just as Plato said, “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything”, it is our belief that fervent practice and wise guidance would propel the club members to better their skills, in ways that are not possible by singular efforts, which would help them be at peace with oneself and also improve their intellectual aptitude. The club aims to provide musicians and music enthusiasts with a platform and necessary guidance to achieve non-dependent and accurate knowledge and experience.

Prithvi club is the first environment club of the DIT University which was formed on November 2014. Our club is working toward creating awareness among students and faculties of DIT University. we organize environment related competitions periodically to interact with the students like swacchta abhiyaan , nukaad natak, tee- artista etc . our swachta abhiyaan was a top show as it attracted many people within DIT University.

The Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon club formed by DIT, Dehradun in association with Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS) under the NSS.

The club aims at spreading awareness about AIDS and its prevention through various competitions like Slogan Writing, Painting, Quiz , Essay Competition etc

  • The first event was a Quiz Competition which was arranged to develop an inquisitive attitude among the students on October 26, 2016.
  • A story writing competition was organised on the topics relating to the social implications of AIDS in order to bring out the creativity of the participants on October 27, 2016.
  • A Poster making competition was organised on October 28, 2016.
  • An event on Elocution was also organised in which the participants spoke on the impact of AIDS on society. The students visiting the help desk of RRC and all the participants of the events were also encouraged to write slogans on the subject of the consequences of AIDS, both in Hindi and in English on October 30, 2016.
  • 5.In the even semester a Blood Donation Camp was organised in the campus by the Indian Medical Association(IMA) and Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital, where the Red Ribbon Club members contributed by promoting the event and volunteering for the same on March 12-14,2016.

The club “SAMARTHYA” was established in year 2011 by the students of CIVIL DEPARTMENT, DIT UNIVERSITY Dehradun. The club organises different type of events which not only enhance the theoretical knowledge but also the practical knowledge in the subjects of civil engineering. The idea of the club is to aware and to acknowledge the students the real meaning of civil engineering.

SPIC MACAY, “The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth”, is a nonprofit voluntary organization dedicated to promoting an awareness of Indian culture in educational institutions throughout India. In 2011, the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna award was given to the movement by Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Spic macay chapter of DIT University was inaugurated on 9th April, 2012. Since then a number of Classical music, dance, folk art, craft, and folk theatre programmes have been organized in the university. DIT University has been making commendable efforts in this noble mission by inviting artists from time to time and enlightening the students from their magnanimous talents.

Major Events

Garhwali Folk Dance' was organised on 18th August, 2015. It was presented by Sangam Saanskritik Samiti, which is one of the most accomplished folk dance groups of Uttrakhand. They also represented folk dance of Uttrakhand at the National Republic Day Parade in 2015.

Manipuri Dance 'Pung Cholom' was organized on 19th October, 2015. It was presented by Guru L. Yaima Singh and his team. He had participated in many festivals in India and abroad mostly organized by ministry of culture, Govt. of India.

TEAM AUDACIOUS is an OFF-ROAD BAJA SAE RACING based team in DIT University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The team participates in BAJA SAE(Baja SAE is an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The team comprises of passionate members all possessing enthralling automotive & management skills. The goal in Baja SAE racing is to design, build and race off-road vehicles that can withstand the harshest elements of rough terrain. The vehicles used in Baja SAE racing are often similar in appearance to dune buggies.

There are multiple dynamic events, usually four per event, as well as a single four-hour endurance race. The dynamic events include hill climbs, sled pulls, maneuverability events, rock crawls, and suspension & traction events. Static events, such as: Cost report, Sales presentations and Design evaluations are provided by participating teams. This is when the teams are judged on ergonomics, functionality, and productivity of their cars; ensuring that the final placement of the team does not rest solely on the vehicle's performance but rather on a combination of static and dynamic events. Required reports detail the engineering and design process that was used in developing each system of the team’s vehicle, supported with sound engineering principles.

The team is progressing to its 3rd year into the competition. After achieving a score of 179.5 out of 200 in the Virtuals Test among Top Teams competing and surpassing around 370 teams from all over the nation, we have secured a place for the next big event which will be held at Pithampur. The technical department works on the various components of the car namely Design, Suspension & Steering, Braking, Powertrain, Drivetrain and Electrical. The management department works on external affairs, sponsorship and documentation. High coordination between these managerial and technical departments is the key behind the successful fabrication of the car.

Writer's ink club is a well-established student-run organization under the guidance of Mrs. Pramod Rai who gives her valuable time towards the building of this club. Club holds around 50 members who denote their precious time and new ideas for the, development of our own kind. Our mission is to communicate and connect to every student who has instilled values, rich thinking and interest towards literature. For this, the club runs exciting reading and writing events that tap into their extraordinary strengths as learners, thinkers and leaders. This also reveals our individual differences as people while pointing up our common bonds.

Technical Chapters

Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6th March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India.

With the vision of empowering several students CSI, DIT chapter has successfully carried out effective workshops and events that have enraptured students and proved extremely beneficial for them.

CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Being part of this esteemed club helps in overall enhancement of all its members giving them tons of opportunities and assistance to excel in whatever dream they aspire for.

ICEIT DITU Organizational Member

Institution of Communication Engineers and Information Technologists (ICEIT) is a non-profit professional society established under the Societies Registration Act 1860 for advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It aims to provide a strong knowledge network to facilitate exchange of ideas and promote the role of ICT in all walks of life.

The Institution functions with and among the industrial affiliates, academics, engineers, scientists, management experts, economists, social scientists and government agencies; who are active contributors to and users of ICT. It provides an array of technical and professional interactive spaces for industries, academia and ICT communities. The Institution is committed to providing best possible service to its members for knowledge development, skill acquisition, support and development advice for career enhancement. The Institution promotes individual and organizational excellence through well designed recognition processes.

ICEIT DITU Organizational Member celebrated its inaugural ceremony followed by a series of workshops on “ Communication and Control System Design using Simulink” conducted by Mathworks for third year ECE and EE students and “ 3G, 4G/LTE latest trends in Telecom technology and Live Network Testing” conducted by Telcocrats Technology for UG, PG and Research scholars during 29th -30th Oct. 2015. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. K.K. Raina, Honb’le Vice-Chancellor DIT University Dehradun. The ceremony was started with enlightening of the lamp by distinguished guests. Honb’le ViceChancellor Prof. Dr. K.K. Raina and Director Academic Prof. Col. Shishir Kumar unveiled the ICEIT DITU Organizational Membership certificate.

  • Two days’ Workshop on 3G, 4G & LTE Fundamentals and Testing on Oct. 29th-30th Oct , 2015 for the 4th year and M.Tech Fist year students of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • One day workshop on VLSI (Back End), Analog/Digital Circuit Designing in association with Mentortech on March 17th, 2016.

About IEEE Student Chapter, DIT University: 

The IEEE Student Chapter of DIT University brings under its umbrella some of the smartest, coolest and geekiest tech freaks on the campus. The chapter has its doors open to just about anybody who has the willingness to LEARN. The vision is not to mentor these individuals into technically sound individuals alone, but also to groom them into dynamic team players, who will in turn mentor their peers and juniors and keep the cycle going. Members exchange ideas and thoughts, interact, seek and extend support, and collaborate on projects. In this way, the chapter is very much a closely knit family.  Keeping in line with the motto of IEEE: ‘Advancing Technology for Humanity', the chapter works to develop a sense of appreciation among students towards electronics, computer science and related fields. Going beyond the standard textbook approach, it conducts several workshops and events to let students get hands-on experience with technically relevant hardware and software, which may also be important from the industrial point of view. It works in close coordination with the Google Student Community of the university.

  • DIGI CLUBS “Information should be available freely to everyone” With the Digi-Clubs project we aim to give all the clubs in a college a single platform where they can share about their inspiring projects and other works. Anything can be shared from Events and Meetings to Project Stories. We believe , every unnoticed event is a missed opportunity!

Photonics Club (SPIE and OSA Chapter)

The OSA (Optical Society of America) Student Chapter and SPIE (Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers) Student Chapter, the biggest international societies for Optics and Photonics were constituted on 2 Feb. 2015 and 27 Oct. 2014 respectively. The objective of the Chapter is to raise awareness of optics and science learning through participation in events at its institution and in the local seats of learning. It also plans to disseminate awareness through youth education and outreach activities such as science fairs, laboratory tours and classroom demonstrations. This is world’s leading professional association for the advancement of technology.

The events encouraged technical geeks to come up with ideas in order to stimulate upbringings in technology. Since establishment, the team has put our whole hearted efforts to provide a common platform for young minds to implement their innovative ideas. The team has continuously endeavored to create a technical culture by organizing workshops, technical weeks, technical fests etc.

SAE is a network of engineering students who come together to share information and exchange ideas for advancing the research, development, design, manufacture and utilization of vehicles which operate on land, water and air. SAE-DIT Chapter was started in 2004 under SAE India, the club has organized various technical events, industrial visits, workshops and symposiums to provide members with a valuable resource for keeping pace with the rapidly changing technology in the mobility industry.   • Desire for serenity & Knowledge was a jatropha sapling plantation program inaugurated by Mr Anil sachan Executive Director IDT/ONGC. Once the jatropha will start yielding we will develop biodiesel lab for extraction of biodiesel.
  • Organized SPE Tech Fest 2016 in the form of Saffron ,White & Green day. The idea was to keep a check on antinational activities taking place across the country. There were lot of technical & non Technical events took place during the fest such as Innova (smart city challenge), Oil Business, Treasure hunt, writeopenion (easy writing competition) , Poster Designing & photomanaia ( photography competition).
  • Spe DIT has arranged guest lecture program by renounced petroleum expert like Dr.B.S Negi who has served esteemed organization like GAIL ,IOCL & petroleum & natural gas regulatory board. Dr negi deliverd a lecture about the opportunities in city gas distribution & allied sector. Dr rattan sing Deputy General manager delivered a lecture on drilling fluid ,He shared his experiences with students & also cleared doubts of students.
